We Instill Integrity and Service in Everything We Do
There are many qualities and virtues we value at Butler Adjusting, but our number one priority is upholding two core values: Integrity and Service.
Integrity is our unwavering commitment to doing the right thing in all situations. We are firmly dedicated to the highest professional ethics. We are intensely focused on careful and accurate fact gathering and the consistent and correct application of coverage. We believe independent insurance adjusters are industry professionals who have a duty to handle claims equitably. We’ve established a reputation for our ethics and professionalism, and we strive to maintain that reputation in all situations.
Service is our dedication to responsibly serving all parties involved in a claim. We see our role as that of a fiduciary (people in whom power is entrusted for the benefit of others). Insurance companies entrust us with handling the claim quickly, accurately and professionally. Policyholders rely on us to address their loss with compassion, urgency and fairness. Contractors and vendors rely on our knowledge and experience to correctly assess and respond to their recommendations and proposals. We’re honored to be selected to serve others in these delicate situations, which is why we do everything in our power to provide the highest level of service.
These values are outlined in our Mission Statement:
- To uphold our role as a fiduciary by honoring the responsibilities entrusted to us;
- To approach each matter with the utmost care and urgency;
- To enhance the public’s understanding of the insurance industry;
- To act ethically and honestly in all situations;
- To behave courteously and professionally at all times; and
- To strive for excellence in our profession by continual development of our skills and knowledge.
Our company operates in a number of ways that set us apart from others:
First, we only employ insurance adjusters who have extensive experience in the field of insurance adjusting. Our adjusters average 25 years of experience and our firm comprises over 175 years of combined experience. This allows us to consistently provide thorough investigations and accurate assessments of loss and damage. With such strong backgrounds in adjusting, our adjusters ensure every claim is handled efficiently, comprehensively and fairly.
Second, we execute a rapid response to every loss or accident. Responding quickly is critical for a number of reasons. It expedites the evaluation of the facts to allow for a faster determination of coverage or liability under an insurance claim, and it facilitates the mitigation of loss or damage for the benefit of both the insurance company and the policyholder. In emergencies, damage often continues to worsen over time, so responding quickly can assist the insured in understanding what steps are needed to protect property from further damage. Additionally, the faster an adjuster responds and commences the claim process, the sooner restoration or repairs can be performed. Our claims adjusters will be on scene immediately. We have adjusters on-call 24/7, 365 days a year.
Third, as part of our adherence to integrity, we do not recommend contractors or vendors to policyholders. As claims professionals entrusted with evaluating and auditing estimates and invoices from contractors and vendors, we choose to preserve our distance from the situation and maintain neutrality. More often than not, we find that insurance carriers, policyholders and contractors all respect and appreciate this decision. It gives the insurance carriers confidence that we are carefully reviewing and verifying the amounts claimed. It gives the policyholders unencumbered control in finding the best contractors and vendors for the job, and confidence that our evaluations are unbiased. It gives contractors and vendors confidence that their proposals will be evaluated in a purely professional manner.
